I apologize if this has been answered before, I wasn't able to find a post with similar symptoms.
I recently replaced my slave, clutch and flywheel and have created a new problem after putting everything back together. The 4WD and 4WD LOW lights are steady on, no flash. The manual T-Case is in 2WD.
So, I pulled the only connection on the top of the case (I assume this is a related position sensor?), cleaned it thoroughly with Elec Conn Cleaner and applied a small dab of Dielectric Grease, because it looks prone to settling mud.
No fix, and... now the speedometer is whack. Reads from 0-20mph. (Speedo was reading correctly before cleaning this connection.)
This means it's still a bad connection/sensor, maybe stuck from sitting a week without fluid, but then.... I put the truck into 4WD for the first time.
The shift between 2H and 4H is short... like the shifter won't push all the way through to 2H. If I recall correctly, 4H is straight back, N & 4L are left past the gate. Now, I have to shift through the gate to get into 4H. Then... shifting back into 2H is delayed with a terrible *clunk*, as if I'm not disengaging the shifter fully from 4WD. (Sorry this is confusing to read... i'll try and take pics.)
So now I guess the shift linkage is off, but I don't recall being able to adjust anything. Just the two bolts, one big, one small. Can I somehow? Please help me diagnose this one. Thanks!
*No suspension or body lift. All related parts are stock.
