yea my 2wd m5od shifts great with no clutch... i can drop it right into the next gear at about 2000 rpm... how bad would it be on your tranny to do this on a regular basis??

edit: it also keeps my foot out of the throttle

That's normal, you can downshift without the clutch too... I drive my truck 80% of the time without using the clutch... I only do it really because my clutch is really stiff and it tires my leg out...

truckers call it floating the clutch:icon_thumby:

doesnt really hurt it if you match the rpms correctly. so long as its not clunking or grinding it shouldn't hurt, my truck can usually do it at around 2300 rpm but i have lower gearing.

I'm one of those that rarely ever uses the clutch as well.

i do it all the time in my ranger..

i once blew out my slave cylider on my superduty about 20miles into my drive to vegas towing a 10k trailer.. had to drive there and back with no clutch.. that was fun with stop and go traffic on the way home.. :D

Yep. Those big truck transmissions don't have synchronizers- (except the high-low splitter one) so it doesn't hurt them. A synchro tranny can be damaged or at least worn prematurely if you are not REALLY good at "floating".

yours trans is fine, I never touch the clutch untill coming to a full stop/ starting out/ or going into reverse. Shifting on RPM is the best way to drive a stick.
