Manual lock hubs, speed

Anyone know if there is a top speed you shouldnt go over with manual hubs? Not been snowing latley on the roads but some places were I need 4wd and dont want to get out. If you're wondering 1994 push button

sounds like your just leaving them locked in.


just make sure your coasting and the rears are not spinning faster or locked up when you engage 4x4.


if its snowy and shitty your probably not going as fast as it goes...and its fine to as fast as it goes anyway.
 
I have them locked in going 55mph, I dont keep them locked all the time, thanks for the info

Front drive train is not all that different from the rear, just added u-joints/CV to allow for steering, and at speed you aren't turning that sharp, well hopefully :)
2001 and up Ranger 4WD have full time locked front wheels.

I think you should be fine at any reasonable(for a Ranger) highway speed

The torque changes and stresses from 4-wheeling would be harder on the front(and rear) axles than street driving.
You hardly ever read about a broken axle on the highway, same can't be said about the local "mudhole" or other off road adventure areas :)
