Sorry if i posted this in thewrong location.i have a 95 4.0 ranger. I was trying to replace the y pipe i got it off but broke both of the studs on the drivers side. I have lots andlots of heat pb blaster kroil and anything else i could think of. I was wornding it i could just take a torch and blow whats left of the stud out. Then use bolts. Sorry if this sounds real dumb but im out of ideas and time. I need my truck back.thank yout:bawling:

It's not ideal, but it can be done. I've had to do it that way before, and the only thing to watch is that you don't burn through the side of the manifold. The studs are softer than the manifold, but a torch will eat them both at about the same rate.

Try some wax first
Heat up the stud and touch a candle to it, wax will be sucked inside threads and can loosen them up.

Also heat up the "Y" adapter then cool just the stud, with compressed air.
Metal expands when heated and shrinks when cooled, so repeated heating and then cooling just the stud can help break loose the rust that is holding it's threads

Yes, you can "blow out" the studs and use bolts, or rethread for studs.
If you use bolts make sure you have a way to hold the backside while tightening the front side.
