that reminds me....i was reading a petersens 4wheel & off road back in high school and a guy was out wheeling at night and came up on a deer. he gunned it to try and run it over, missed the deer and rolled his truck down the side of 50 foot hill totaling it of course. at the end of the article he said,"i'll never try to intentionally run anything over again..." hahaha....karma sucks sometimes

on a side note, it's actually illegal in north carolina to eat road kill or it was last time i remember hearing anything about it.

Up here you're supposed to call the game commission an get a roadkill tag. It's free, you just have to tell them where the deer was an all and I don't remember them actually sending anything, they just need to be notified. I'd only take a very fresh roadkill like either I saw it just get hit or the thing is hit but still alive. If you get it skinned out quick you can still save most of the meat, unless it has wasting disease or something.

I would wax the deer and roll on......... I've done it in tractors. Just bump bump, rock on. I would feel bad that he was dumb enough to lose control over a deer.

as for it being illegal? here in the Northeast it is regarded as a public service to save it from being wasted.

You are supposed to report it, but... frankly I've never bothered.

If someone told me it was illegal I'd either ignore them or run their ass over.

This so random but I read this last night, then I had a dream where I witnessed the exact same thing. Poor plow and truck haha. Also my hitting things story. My bosses brother hit a COW with his 06 (ish) duramax...$13,000 in damages...all payed for by SGI haha

i ran over a deer once in my old acura integra. It was a little rice burner lowered with exhaust and all. I came around a corner and it was just lying in the middle of my lane. So my first reaction was to just center my car right over it instead of swerving at 70 mph....and luckily my tires didnt touch it and it just skidding underneath my car. I think it was really old and rotting and bloated i must have ripped it open with my exhaust cause i had the nastiest smell for about 2 weeks....
