or how about this ...can i ues my accel super stock coil on my 88 efi 2.3 ive alredy used my extra 8mm msds of a v8 and want to get more spark with out ****ing up my efi computer crap im looking hard and having a time trying to find shit for this engine. and i cant find ensslingers wed site:dunno:

com on! you mean to tell me out of all you guys out with 2.3, none of you all have any performance mods other than intake and muffler(any puss can do that)!!!!! some one has to have a balls to the wall 2.3:bawling: with efi.

sweeet IC thats wut im talking about:headbang:

ok here are my mods and i am quite happy with them so far just started off with good base motor and will be making more from here. i do have a 85 with OBD1 so this could make some differances on some othe OBD systems. frist off i put a esslinger adjustable cam timing pulley on the motor(i had the block decked to .010 for piston clearance and futher rebuilds) and had the head surfaced and cc'ed the chambers to make sure they where all even. blocked was balanced and the only thing i wish i would of done is installed forged instead of cast pistons. i used a 85 d port head on a 91 block. the head was a flat tappet cam and i installed a roller cam and followers. i used a esslinger adjustable pulley and set it with the e-bar that they sell i also checked my valve lash. the only thing you will get from the pulley is getting the cam timed in and adjusting where you would like your power band to be either lower or higher up the rpm range. i also got their belt tensioner. if you get the pulley and tensioner get a hold of me there is a little trick to this pulley they dont tell you about that i think you should preform. i got one of the tube headers like you have and got the down pipe with it for the O sensor. now see if you can find a shorty header from a 5.0 and cut the collector off of it then cut the collector off the 2.3 tube header and weld the collector form the 5.0 shorty head to the header on the 2.3 shorty header. bigger opening on the collector and no bung to block off for the egr then. now this is your choice either get a high flow cat or a glasspck or flowmaster muffler i sent the cat to the scrap yard with a few more i had laying around for a little extra money. ran 3 in flowmaster and brought tail pipe out in front of back tire sounds good. idid a way with the egr took the thing apart and used a gasket and some NOS can and blocked the port off on the upper intake. will make a better looking block off plate later. i changed the thorttle body to one i had sitting around to put the idle air control valve on th e thorttle body instead of the air box. made a cold air tube. i dont have a MAS on this truck. i put a MSD coil on wires and cap w/ rotor i prefer MSD set timing at 12 degrees just to see how it works but will still be playing with this a little more so not quite sure on this point yet. make sure that your fuel pressure is up to snuff and fire that puppy off. got real crisp throttle response and except that i presently have a lame automatic in the truck right now i am pleased with the way it runs. did wrap the header and part of the down pipe besides the transmission to send the heat out the tail pipe. go t spare upper and lower intake and will be getting them port matched and install a bigger throttl body later after break in. can't think of any thing else right down.

wow cool deal... i m runing accel wiers and superstock coil, with that factory tube header in to 21/2 and i used a cat of my 79 powerwagon punched it out, slid the 21/2 tube through the cat housing welded it in and it looks like its a cat but relly just a strait pipe and followed by flo40 i saw the msd cap on the web, ill order it soon. i blocked of my egr by tacking the fitings welding them shut with washers and thay sckrew on and off now so if i ever want to put the tube on i can. i was looking at that fuel psi regulater and want to get a adjustibal one like you can for handas and set it at 65 or 60 idont know... but im finding shit every day
