just lately my 91 ranger has been having problems with the tailights, problem is it doesn't occur all the time. We discovered it when the passenger side blinker/brakelight wouldn't illuminate, and when it's acting up it seems to only malfunction when the other blinker/brakelight is also on.(such as hitting the brakes and having the blinker on or hazards). it seems to go bad after a couple minutes of checking, not right at first. After the first couple mintues it quit working then all of a sudden the drivers side wasn't working and the passenger side was? we tried again a few minutes later and they seemed to be back to normal. I had a trailer harness and removed that, no difference and the blinker whether working or not has the same rhythm. no other lights are acting up and all the bulbs are working. any help would be great, thanks

p.s. what year did the rangers get a third brake light?

more info ---» auto tranny or manual--»whatever -----»could be the plug or sensor tranny or wire ground

it's a manual transmission and where is the ground for that circuit? Is it the one on the drivers side front fender?
