Making a kill switch

Would adding a sitch on the wires going to the inertia switch work as a kill switch? Just cutting power to the fuel pump? Or will it cause problems

Well, it'll lean out before it dies. I doubt it'd cause damage since it would happen so fast, but there are better ways.

I'd tie into the main wire from the ignition switch.

Inertia switch is a 30amp circuit, short would ruin your whole day
If you want to do it use a relay to cut power, relay's coil can be powered by the fuel pump power, and switch just controls the coils ground to close relay, or leave it open(killed)

You already have similar in the Fuel pump relay, it is in the engine fuse box, it is controlled by the computer using a Ground, you could put a switch on that wire without a worry, and it would give you the same results.

Yes, whether you add your own relay or use existing fuel pump relay, it is best to use the ground wire as the trigger(on/off).
Benefit is that wiring to a switch has no shorting potential and it is low amps.

Most automotive wiring is done this way if possible and practical.

If you want to shut her down in a hurry without the key I'd put your switch on the power line to the coil. Killing fuel like that isn't good for the injectors. That's why the coil, fuel pump, injectors and PCM all get power from the same place, shut off one and shut off all.
