Don't know if he's directly related to it or not but NASA just had a scheduled California launch (and subsequent failure) a couple days ago. Losing a $100 million satellite is bound to suck up anybody's time for quite a while. If he was involved in that project somehow then he's probably wrapped up with it now.

Yes and no. The failure as far as I heard came from not enough propulsion to get the satellite into orbit. That's the rocket scientists' fault. Pretty sure MAKG worked on the computers.
