Searched the site for cleaning maf as I read somewhere it can really help out responsiveness and is a good thing to do if u swamp ur truck. Which I did :(
Read the vinegar nightmare discussion and decided to use break clean, my dad gets it free from work so I knew i had a bunch handy. The dremmel cutting a slot in the tamper proof screw was a good idea. Cleaned it up with a q tip, dirty as hell. Threw it back in an WOW!
Responsiveness is unreal! Before, there was a huge lag when I floored it, if it sped up at all. Now it's a rocket!
So thanks guys, my mind is still getting blown about all the tricks and tips you guys have :)

Just for future reference you can buy MAF sensor cleaner. Brake cleaner leaves an oxidation layer when it dries

The stuff I used said no residue.... But I can see that making sense cause when I get a bunch on my skin u can feel it getting cold... Hasn't seemed to inhibit performance at all... I know they do but I was broke and had an itching to do some work on lil green :p

Your hands feel cold after you get brake cleaner on them because brake cleaner evaporates very quickly. Things evaporating or dropping pressure quickly take a lot of heat with them when they changes states.

What tamper proof screw? The security torx bit? Those aren't exactly rare.

Well then, they are neither tamper proof nor secure are they?

As far as a MAF cleaner goes, just use CRC QD Electronic Cleaner rather than the can labeled "CRC MAF Cleaner".
Hexan is the main ingredient in both but the electronic cleaner is a couple of bucks cheaper at Walmart.
I think brake cleaner would be a bit rough. It is an electrical sensor after all.
