MAF sensor?

I recently replaced the Head and Water pump in my 2003 Ranger with a 2.3L DOHC at 245,000 miles. The only codes that are being thrown after the job is P0108 cleaned the MAF and tried again. It threw it again and P0068. It does idle rough rough, sometimes a little high sometimes a little low and will even stall when no load is on the engine at times. After the head job the only other issues I've had is it seems to go through coolant hose fittings faster than I can buy them. Any help would be great.

Also I forgot to mention I did unplug the MAF and didn't notice a real change in how the engine was running.

You have a vacuum leak, that's the common link in those two codes.

Check the EGR system vacuum lines, if your engine has an EGR system.
And any other vacuum hoses.

Sensors rarely fail, not never but rarely, people often waste money on replacing sensors which is like "shooting the messenger", the fact the computer set a code means a sensor's data detected a problem, so sensor is working as it should.

A vacuum gauge costs about $25, and is a handy tool for diagnosing many engine problems, including vacuum leaks.

What is happening with coolant fittings?
Are they rusting out, if so you have some bad grounds, or lots of salt in the cooling system, this causes electrolysis, eats away metal from the inside out.

If they are "popping off" then rad cap is bad or has wrong pressure for the system.

Well the coolant lines are consistently going through plastic fittings

Its been a couple days since I blew my last coolant line. I'm set up to borrow a smoke machine to find the vacuum leak or leaks tomorrow. Thanks for the help thus far.
