I am thinking about making the conversion my next project. My only question is what to do about the intake hose.

When I did mine I didn't even use a ford airbox. I would try using a 4.0 airbox and cutting the 2.9 intake tube to fit, that would probably be your easiest bet.

the 4.0 liter airbox I am truly thinking about going with, as far as cutting the 2.9 intake tube, I don't know how well that would work, but it is an idea.

I had to reclock the bends in my tube when I did it, i used some exhaust tubing and hoseclamps to do this. It looks factory with the black hoseclamps and such. Only problem I ran into is I had to use a strip of the intake tube cut to wrap around the MAF and glued together to get a snug fit on the maf
