I took the mass air flow sensor out of my 93 3.0 and sprayed it down with MAF cleaner. Greased up the electrical connector with dielectric grease and put it back in thinking I done a good thing.

I went from about 16 MPG to 10 MPG!
I have driven it 70 miles since.

I pulled it again to make sure it didn't break. It appears to be in good condition. I never touched the actual wires. I cant explain why this happened, but now it seems I'm out a sensor. They retail for about $90 ( don't know what the JY will charge ). Based on my experience I do NOT recommend cleaning your MAF.

However I will say that my results do not seem typical, make your own choice.

Recalibrate!!!! Like a GPS device. I never had that problem, Bro!!!! Do you have a work manual on your truck? If not, Google the cleaning of the Maf and see how it is supposed to be done.
