Just pull the shifter back out and make sure all the gates are lined up, the 3 notches on the shift forks.

how do i get them to line up use screw driver ?
is hard for me to tell what im looking at. picture or web link to one ?

look for two little brass button lookin things, they need to be across from each other(lined up) for the tranny to be in neutral.once you locate those just feel around a bit with a screw driver and you'll figure the best way to pop it back in place.worked for me

worked

ah worked back on the road whew thought i was gonna have to pull trany again ! thnx a bunch Bruce and Mccrob :D

I bought a truck that came with that same problem, ended up pulling the trans before I figured it out.
