m5r2 2x4 to 4x4 interchange question

My 89 2.3 4x4 ranger has spit the tranny. I have a two wheel drive transmission in my shop but was wondering what would have to be changed to put the transfer case on the spare tranny. If it can be done It would save me a weekend of transmission rebuilding.

You need to remove the tailshaft housing, as well as swap the output shaft from the 4wd to the 2wd trans. If you have a tcase adapter on your trans, you will need to swap that as well...
