So I've got a worn input shaft on what is an otherwise serviceable transmission. I've got the 5th/reverse business out of the back and the bearing retainer business out of the front. How do I separate the input and output shafts? Is there a video tutorial on tear downs I can buy? Thanks!

See if this helps. I would think it's pretty similar. Skip forward to around the 23 minute mark. The camera work is a bit rough. But it's very viewable.

With the bearing retainer out of the front you knock the whole main shaft assembly forward to knock the race out, and then you have enough room to work. The input and output shafts are not really "connected" in any meaningful way and will just pull apart once they have room to do so.

Then it is all about the angle of the dangle to get the shafts out past each other.

Cool. That's what they showed in the video I linked above.
