Just bolted a 4.0 and m5od into my 1987 Bronco II. I am wondering if I can use the master cylinder from my old FM145 with the new(er) m5od. The firewall mount and master cylinder from the newer transmission do not line up with the clutch pedal and bolt holes very nicely.

Am I better off pulling the line off the slave cylinder or the master cylinder? By that question, I mean should I use the fluid line from the fm145 or the m5od?

Thanks!

Clutch slave needs to be for transmission model, so you need the M5OD slave
Master can stay as is, i.e. 1987 B2 master

Problem will be with the quick connect, Master hose to Slave fitting, I think they changed around '91/'92

So slave needs to be for a 1990 M5OD if you use your 1987 B2 master
Or it needs to match the year of your new master

I don't think the master cylinder matters, the line attaches to it in the same way no matter what year, I think? Just a roll pin holding it in. Use the new line with your old master cylinder.
