M5OD should of blown by now???

Hello, well firstly the tranny in my 95 ranger 3.0L 4x4 is whining from hell, ive changed the fluid last May and it still whines so i figured bad bearings...beautiful...tranny should be dying soon...oh yeah...it knocks when cold too.
Its been whining like this since the end of September '07...since then i havent beat on it at all because this is by daily driver.

Should'nt it have blown up by now??

no no no not at all, im just saying its kinda wierd that its been holding on for this long??
maybe its the transfer case doing the whining then?? but it whines all the time not only when in 4 wheel.

My 97 did that for a year, my slave was also on the way out also and finally gave up a couple months ago.Mine whined in every gear but 4th. Took the trans out and it appeared to be the input shaft bearing so I had that replaced along with most of the other bearing and syncro plates, replaced clutch, pressure plate, release bearing and slave,,,works perfectly now!

how much did that all cost you....i went to a transmission rebuild shop recently and they told me its gona be about 8 grand just in labor alone. i told him to shove it up his poop chute.

They told you 8 grand in just labor?!?!? I'm guessing that it also includes them rebuilding every single wearable part on your entire truck?

yeah funny thing.......now he is out of business!!! and this was only a little while ago
