M5OD R2 trans swap clutch line problem

I have one.

For whatever reason, the Ford stuff is a pain to bleed.

Some companies make fancy angled firewall adapters (designed for '65-'70 Mustangs) that could work.
Or find any larger master cylinder with a remote reservoir, so you can angle it without issue.
I modded my '95+ pedal bracket to fit the older, larger bore master cylinder easily. (new clips in, old bolts to fire wall)

A little info on what year/ motor the truck is for? When doing my swap i bought about 6 diffrent new ones for diffrent application years/ motors, and all of them measured 3/4 when i got home. I even had one of the alumnium bodied ones but it was still a 3/4 bore

This is exactly what i'm running into on my 87. A stock ranger master cylinder does not move enough fluid to make the r2 disengage the clutch. I researched it before i started school this year and a f150 master is 7/8 inch, where a ranger is 3/4 inch. Do not believe what the parts stores tell you because some do list a 7/8 bore ranger master, but they do not measure 7/8 when you get them. The best i have gotten mine to work is a lot of slipping and creeping at a stop, but you must start the truck in gear, and match the rpm so you can shift kinda like not using the clutch. When i get out of school here in 2 weeks i may try and adapt Willwood universal master with a 7/8 bore, but throwing in the c6 looks so much easier at this point. I'll let you know what i find.

I had two 7/8 master cylinders on my 89 while I had the V8 in it. Both worked fine with the McCleod hydro T/O bearing which requires as much fluid to engage as the stock T/O bearing does. Both 7/8 bore masters were made from aluminum, not plastic. With the second one, I had to get Advance to reorder a couple times before I got what I wanted.

I believe the larger master was intended for an '89 3.0
I know it was used many years and on various engines, though.
If you sift through part one of my builds (link in my sig) I believe there is a part number and how-to listed. It links to another site.

alright thanks for all the help. well my ranger is a 1992 an the motor an trans i got is out of a 1992 F150. so to be specific what year of a truck should i take a master out of so that the fitting on the master will plug into the slave inside the tranny?

like i have a brand new master in my old m5od r1 that was behind my 4L, will that bolt into my v8 trans that way my master will plug into it?

What do you mean 'the fitting on the master will plug into the slave inside my tranny'?

Are you trying to talk about the hydraulic line between the two?

ya sorry i missed a couple words there, the original ranger hydrolic clutch master cylinder line fitting will not fit into the fitting on the fullsize slave cylinder in the transmission, so is there any different style of ranger master cylinder i can get that will connect to the f150 slave cylinder?

should i find a couple different ranger clutch master cylinders to see what fits or splice together an end from a f150 into my stock ranger one?

The line that plugs into the slave also unplugs from the master. There is a roll pin that holds it in the master. You may be able to put the f-150 line into the ranger master but I don't know for sure.

Yup, they use the same fitting on the master end of the hose.

Would a Mustang MC work, they come in sizes ranging from 3/4" to 1 1/8". Just chiming in cuz im getting rdy to do the same thing.

Alright well I got my stock ranger MC to work, I've bled n bled the system but I still can't get it into gears if you jiggle it n force it in it will go, an then the clutch engages right off the floor? Would my problem be I just need to bleed it more or? The slave cylinder if only 6 months old

this is exactly where i was, gave up on stock parts and bought a willwood 7/8 bore master and am in process of adapting it to the pedal right now. should be able to get it on the road sometime tomorrow with any luck.

I might try buying a new MC cuz i know mines kinked abit n older so might be screwed. n if that doesnt work then maybe ive be swapping the whole trans out for a cable clutch 4 gear trans
