If you wanted good fuel economy you should not have bought a 4x4 pickup truck equipped with a 4.0 SOHC V6 engine...

driving at 80mph is adding insult to injury...

The FX model is equipped with the lowest axle ratios available on a Ranger...


Not to mention that the 4.0SOHC engine is by nature something of a fuel hog

BTW, I've believed for a long time that most automotive engines achieve best fuel economy by running at of slightly above their torque peak RPM at as low a throttle position as possible...
