Hi friends,
I have some issues in the clutch-tranny set that I want to share with you, in order to understand the problem right.
Clutch:
The pedal is heavier now than before, and I don´t want to have knee problems in the near future...Must I change the whole clutch kit or some specific part of it? It if yes...which one? Part number?
Transmission:
The problem is that sometimes, 1st gear becomes difficult to engage, so, I have to put the gear in Rev, and then put again 1st gear...then works perfect. And permanently when I go from 1st to 2nd, a little sound appears, and the gear engage, but not smoothly as I want. Is like that it cost a little more to nomal to engage correctly. Is that a Clutch or Tranny problem?
Finally, it is possible to change my manual tranny to an auto tranny....for rocks I think is better to have a auto. What tranny could be? ..something to be near to a bolt-on swap...but from all the read in this forum, I think that I have to avoid the explorer tranny. Is there another option?...not so complicated...
Thanks in advance for your comments ;)

When you do clutch work, it is best to do everything while you are in there. That includes; clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing/slave cylinder and pilot bearing. The flywheel should be surfaced also.

Yes, you can replace the manual transmission with an automatic but it is about three times as much work as changing the clutch and a lot more money.

When you buy a flywheel, you are better off buying new (about $60.00 at auto-zone) rather than used for about $30.00 plus a resurface for an additional $20.00 and all the hassles involved.
