hey guys i got a 89' ranger that im doing a 93' 4.0l swap on but i wanna get a tranny first and im just wondering cuz i have no idea, will an 2004 ranger M5OD work?

-bellhouosing the same?
-will it mate to a 93' case?
-is the length the same?

any info would be greatly appreciated even though i have my doubts thanks.

1. bellhouosing the same?
2. will it mate to a 93' case?
3. is the length the same?

1. Yes the bell housing will directly bolt to the '93 4.0....some will tell you that there will be 1 bolt hole that will not line up, but I put a '03 M50D-R1HD in my '97 4.0 and it matched exactly.

2. All Rangers/Explorers/Bronco II's have the same t-case mounting pattern. The only difference is the v8 Explorers have a different case.

3. Yes the length of the M50D-R1 is the same as the A4LD (automatic) or the FM146 (manual) transmissions that could have been in your '89 Ranger. You could also have a M50D-R1 already in your truck.
