I have a 94 ranger 4x4 4.0l v6 and I just recently swapped my M50D-R1 to a FM 146 when the synchros went out. I know this transmission sucks, but I'm broke and I traded some parts for the FM146 so it's what i'm stuck with until I can afford another M50D-R1.
When I did the swap I replaced the clutch hydraulic line and kept the FM 146 slave, but left the M50D-R1 clutch and flywheel on.
Now I'm having problems with the clutch not fully disengaging when I have the pedal down and I'm still in gear. I've bled the clutch a dozen times and it doesn't leak or lose fluid so i don't think the slave is bad.
Any ideas about why i'm still having problems?
The clutch works fine the first mile or so of driving and the noise doesn't sound like there is something going wrong in the transmission. The only thing I can think of is that the FM146 slave isn't fully disengaging the larger M50D-R1 clutch. Any advice is welcome.
