hey,
I searched around a bit but didn't find much info on this topic. Here's the problem: I'm about 6'4" and my head just about hits the headliner in my 04, also I just generally feel like i'm sitting up too high in the vehicle compared to the wind shield and visibility and stuff like that. My thought right now is to some how modify the brackets that the seat mounts on to hopefully gain another inch or two of head room, or if that doesn't work possibly search for some aftermarket bucket seats that sit a little lower. For the time being i'd rather modify what i've got than buy something new...has anyone done anything similar with success? Oh also a friend suggested "shaving down the seat foam" but that doesn't seem like a good idea to me, that would mess up the way the fabric that covers the foam is right?
thanks

Shaving the seat foam wont do much, and will leave u with a harsh seating surface
Your truck has the big squared seats or the normal ones?
seems like the 04+ seats are actually bigger than the previous ones.
Maybe u should try swapping them.

yeah they definitely seem to be larger than the seats my 02 had...im just gonna unbolt them this weekend and see if I can figure something out...the only issue with swapping is the interior is blue and black so i'd have to find something that matches that or get them reupholstered

you can shave down the bottom of the foam. not the top. aka, take off the seat pan, and use a wire wheel to shave down where your butt sits. i did it yesterday, took of 3/4 inch of foam, gained an inch of headroom. sorry dont have pictures, but i only took off the lowest part.
