Hi, this is our first BT-50 2008 and we need low transmission to be really low (at least 3). We were trying to find solution but we didn't find an experienced people to get an advise. We consider trasfer case adapter kit but still have problems to select the right one.
I would appreciate any comment or advise. We are going to Sakhara and need a powerful low transfer strongly.
Please HELP!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Are you looking for a transfer case or a lower geared primary transmission?

The BT-50 looks an awful lot like my neighbor's brand new Brazilian built Ranger. They are so new here I don't know anyone doing any custom work on them yet. Do you know where your BT-50 was built? Also it would help to know what country you are in.

But you say it is a 2008 so that confuses me a bit more. Now I'll be on the lookout for something like that all over the city when I am out and about.

HI, I do not know what is better to use and looking for advise. As we understand we should either change rings& pinion or put low range transfer case kit. Mazda was build in Thailand at the same factory as Ford Ranger and transmission should be the same as most of other parts of the car. We are Russians. We went with this car through Sakhara last year and this year we plan to go deeper to the sand. By now we are happy with this car and feel this is the only additional improvement we have to make.

Hi Richard, I do have a good mechanical professional who helps me but he is not an expert in Mazda. BT -50 is not a very popular car here and I am searching around for additional info. I,ll check your links. Thanks a lot. I was also able to find a set of rings & pinions for Ford and number of people told me that this will fit to my Mazda. As I understand the proble I would prefer a second transfer case as you recommend. The car will keep dynamic on road but will show more power when needed. The problem is to find a right kit for Mazda.
Thanks again,
Tatiana
