I will begin gathering some parts for my sas on my bronco II after the new year. I already have a 78 bronco dana 44 that has been narrowed that i will be using my questions are about the springs and the spring/shock mounts. I really dont want to lift it more than about 4 " with the sas so should i use stock height eb coils? Also the people that have used the james duff coil springs mount and panhard bar mount, would you recommend them? Im planning to run 255/85r16 tires on this truck but will likely be driving on the 31's for a bit since i just bought new tires.

When you do the lift you're gonna need to pay attention to how much room you have between the top of your differential and the engine crossmember. The amount of lift you'll need will depend directly on that. I ended up cutting my crossmember out and building a removable one that gave me 2 more inches of clearance. My truck was a 2wd though so it had a goofy crossmember.

how was it narrowed?

short side or long side or both?

to stay low the easy way is to run the fullwidth axle with the axle forward an inch or two.

or shorten it to place the pumpkin between the rail and engine.

but 4 inches is workable no matter what.

It was narrowed 6 inch all taken off on the passenger side. So would stock height eb coils give me around 4 inches of lift over stock?

It depends on where you mount your coils and what mounts you use as to what height the coils yield. 4" will be really tight with it narrowed that way. I narrowed mine that way and tried 5" or so and there was no way. Any large bumps compressed it enough to contact the cross member. Articulation was ok because the passenger side was drooped. I
This was after I butchered my cross member as much as possible. I am building my current ranger fw and moving the wedges in to avoid the cross member interference but I finding 5" is still pretty low for 35s to clear on the rear. I have the rear done and I am waiting to start cutting fenders until the fronts done.

Yep I'm running 35's and 38's on about a 6" lift with full widths and fiberglass fenders. If I had stock width and stock fenders I doubt they would clear without fender trimming.

Well with me wanting to not lift it much and only go to about a 33 inch tire would a HP Dana 30 be a better match? I found a 96 xj front axle that I can pick up for cheap.

I don't know. I've never done a 30 SAS. I assume the differential would be about 2" narrower from top to bottom. Plus the way the coils set on the axel, I imagine you'd be like 2" lower with a 30 at ride height with the same springs on a 44 with radius arms.
With a radius arm the coils set on top of the radius arms.
With the jeep 30 they set on a pad that's only about 1" high over the axel.
It would be lower a ride height.
