Love my truck but jeez!

Lol. I got rid of my 2010 Honda civic. Only car I ever owned that took like 5 seconds with key turned to start. F that thing. My ranger starts better.

But I need to go buy a bigger pair of pliers as I only got tiny ones. I don't wanna break cheap plastic hub sides by using 2 of em and turning with both hands. Plastic... Ugghhh. Older vehicles are always made with random cheap parts. Plus I think it's not turnin so ex cause it dirty or cause it's from 99 and has never been touched.

I just took 2 flat head screwdrivers and stuck them in opposite slots on the hub and then held them in with one hand and using another screw driver weaved it between the two and it turned right off.

I was thinkin of that but I was worried I'd break the little plastic spline like things even though they aren't really holding anything. I was about to just cut the screen out with my knife and just be careful not to cut through secondary plastic. Do you think I should pop it all out just to clean it or since it's like a pen long as it pops in it'll be fine? I did just get new wheel hub assembly's. Idk, I was just assuming that's what everything went into so it'd e clean but as I've never done this before idk.

When I did mine I pulled all of the pieces out, wiped the insides out as best I could, clean parts removed/modified, and reassemebled. Have been cleaning them once a year since and are working great.

The trouble shooting is really easy, just takes a little of time. All you might need to get the system working again is a couple feet of vacuum tube.

Mines being a b**ch....

Went and got a good pair of pliers. Needed some anyways. My 4x4 works without a problem now. Can't I just leave it locked, and disengage 4x4 and it won't burn more gas? I think the problem is if I leave it in 4x4 high and unlock hubs it still spins axle but not wheels.

Well if you didn't do the modification the hubs will engage and disengage when you engage and disengage the t case.

But if you leave the hubs locked in even if the t case is out you will get probably 1-2 mpg worse mileage. because the hubs are spinning everything all the way up to the t case and if you leave the hubs unlocked and 4x4 in the t case is spinning everything up to the hubs.

Either way you would see around a 1-2 mpg drop except leaving it all out.
