hey eveyone i was wondering if some one could help me out, my 85 2.8 motor seems like its super loud like, loud enough to drown the sound of my straight pipe when the hood is up. also sounds like it has a tick not sure though. ANY idea what this could be or how to fix it????

It depends on what kind of sound - It may be an exhaust manifold gasket failure or the headpipe to exhaust pipe connection; either one can be very loud.

A clicking sound can be normal because these engines have solid lifters; but not too loud.

They also have a crossover pipe that runs from one head to the other on the back side that can leak.

if its a loud tick, just pop off the valve covers and set the valve lash

i can't remember the specs for the intake / exhaust though...
