My 94 ranger (4.0 man tranny) quit on me yesterday. The pedal went straight to the floor. Looks like I have to replace the clutch cylinders....

Do I have to pull the tranny to do it? I havent looked at it yet but I gotta plan this repair out dont want surprises. I wann be prepared. What am I looking at here as far as parts and the stuff I gotta pull... ?

Figure out where the leak is. It could be anywhere in the clutch hydraulic system. It makes a BIG difference in your effort to replace!

The slave is inside the transmission bellhousing. The rest is NOT. It is absolutely not worth it to replace a good slave.

did you check and make sure that the rod on the clutch pedal didn't break, because mine sis and i thought my clutch went out

+1 on checking the clutch master rod. Also, if you pull off the quick disconnect hydraulic line at the slave and then have a hard pedal which does not sink when pushed, then your clutch master and line is probably ok. You can check for slave leakage thru the trans inspection port:I had two that leaked and it could be seen plainly thru the port.

If your line is disconnected and the pedal still drops, then the clutch master probably needs replacement. If it was me, I'd replace the clutch master now and only go after the slave if that did not fix it.
