I have an 86 Power Ram 50 with terribly sagged springs, old shocks, and shot bushings....it handles 10x better in corners and bumps than my Ranger. Is this a common problem and what might be causing it? I can hold 40-45 through corners on railroad crossings in the D50 (2 on the way to work), if I were to try that in the Ranger, I'd be facing the wrong way on the road in about a split second. BEST case scenario! Mind you, the D50 probably weighs 1000lbs less...

Thing just has terrible lateral sway. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Bigger sway bars on the rear, a better tire combination for the roads you are driving, a different shock set up. It all depends on what you want to do. My ranger corners fine but it is 2wd. I live off one of the best mountain runs in so cal and can corner just fine in my ranger. But you gotta remember its a 4x4 truck and cornering like a sports car is not what it is designed to do. It's a lot to swing around and the center of gravity on the rangers feels higher then it is so a lot of it is just confidence in pitching it in the corners.
