When i go to put it into first i can feel when its in first and then i can like almost role the stick a little sideways will im in first almost like the play you have in nuetral! Where should i Start????? Thanks Guys:icon_bounceblue:

take out the 4 screws that hold the shifter boot down. there are 3 bolts holding the shifter down to the tranny from there. I'm betting one of the two pins that keep the shifter aligned broke, happened to me in april. They are easy to replace. Either that or the bushings are done, mine were too

I'll add that for about $100 you can get the parts at a dealer, new bushings and the alignment pins as the parts are still in the brand new rangers and are exactly the same... I got my parts from a ~'97 ranger in a junk yard.

dang, wish I knew about that in april... I wouldn't have used used parts!

for $22 that'll fix any shifter loosness on a M5OD
