hey guys i want to add a few inches under my ranger and because its a 99 im having trouble finding anything except body lifts. im not a big fan of body lifts so i was wondering if anyone could help with me with where i could find a lift for my truck.

ill probably keep the 31s i dont really plan on going with a bigger tire im just looking for some extra ground clearance. im only looking for maybe a 2 or 3 inch lift.

Lifts for 98+ Rangers do not come cheap...except for body lifts.

If you just want a couple inches, crank the torsion bars and add shackles to the rear.

yea i only found one lift for it that wasnt a body lift. i forget what brand and where i found it but i know it was like 1600 or 1800 bucks. i was considering cranking the tbar and adding some shackles. it might be my only option right now.

Consider a 265/75. Thats what I have and people often think my truck is lifted (seriously)

I understand not wanting to go much bigger with the 3.0, not the best when it comes to bigger tires unless you do some major mods to it. Found this out when towing a large trailer with my dad's 3.0, thing never left drive unless I was going down hill, the torque sucks compared to the 4.0, he even said it! The t-bar crank and shakle or blocks in the rear are the only way if you don't want to do a lift. If you are looking for real clearance though, bigger tires is the only way to get true clearance!!!!

Lifts essentially just give you the room for bigger tires, and those bigger tires are what gets you the real ground clearance.
Whether you go body or suspension, if you want everything higher off the ground, you got to get the meats.

Thank you Jay.

I have always told people that you don't have to lift if you can stuff the tires under. Lift is articulation, not clearance!

thanks for all the input guys it really helped me figure out what direction to go in. im planning on just doing the tbar and shackles since i plan on keeping the truck sitting on 31s.

I just picked up some Dunlap Mud Rovers on american racing wheels, the black ones with the red stripe around it. I will put up some pics in Sept when I get them on the Ranger after getting back from Belgium! I excited as hell to start working on both of my trucks when I get home! I picked these up for only $500!
