Looking into my first lift

First of I'm a newbie, just starting to really work on getting my truck to where I want it. I have a nearly bone stock '07 XLT, I'm in the market for new tires and an inexpensive lift and am pretty sold on the Mickey ATZs in a 285/75 16.

I like the thought of the add a leaf and new shocks to compensate for the additional height. Any thoughts or opinions on it the kit?
 
Junk. Don't waste your time with aftermarket torsion keys.

Crank your stock keys and put an extended shackle on the back.

Some new shocks and you're done.

What exactly is that supposed to mean?

Cranking stock keys = free

Extended shackles = $50.00

Shocks should be around 50 each depending on how fancy you want to get.

And an alignment which he would need anyways....

Sounds like solid advice. I like a more cost effective approach. I was thinking of cranking the stock keys, wasn't too sure if different keys were any better.

I'm not looking to go to crazy with the truck, it's my daily driver (+ it's still under warranty). Just want to get it a little better setup for off road. Would the RS5000s be pretty solid?

I want to get the truck up a little bit from the ground then time for some skid plates. Mud packs into the cross member a little too quick.
