i put my name on the list for the early retirement the government is offering here at work. i don't know if i will actually take but i wanted to get my name on as a place holder in case my wife gets medically retired. if she gets it, i will probably go also.
the minimum requirement was 50 years old. i turned 50 the day before the cut off date. 25 years of gov service in april so i am ok with trying something else.
another reason to go is if i leave now, its only 400 less a month than if i have to stay till i am 57. thats not a lot of money for the bs you deal with working for the federal government and the army
