I'm sure the info is here somewhere but I've spent hours looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm doing a v8 conversion on a 97 ranger 4x4 originally a 3.0 automatic, the donor vehicle is a 97 mercury mountaineer. I originally thought like so many others this would be a relatively simple swap but I am determined to make this work. I want to use the mountaineers computer but just discovered that the engine harness and body harness will not mate up. There is no PATS system to deal with.
Has anyone found an easy solution to this issue?

I what ways do they not "mate up"? You mean a few circuits are not on the same pins?

I got the plugs to mate up. Some how Both the body harness and engine harness both got hung up and once I took a fresh look at it freed them up and plugged right in.
My body harness has the ground wire in it but I'm not sure which other pins need to be relocated. Most of the info I've found is for 98+ or EECIV engine harness.
To be honest I would not use a 97 or older truck if I ever do this swap again, just seems like every little thing has turned into a huge ordeal.
