i am wondering about a front skid plate for my 1998 4x4 ranger.... something to protect the suspension from the logs and rocks in the trails.... brush guard ain't cutting it... anyone have one or know about them??????

Try the tech section, And resources section, also look under vendors. I forget exact sites bur, specific ranger mod sites, Dixon bros, camburg, ruffstuff... Etc.

Yea, I would like one to. I have looked around but when I find them they are not cheap. Millers Fabrication has them. I can't remember the price but that are really nice. Check out there web site.

I ripped the hood off of my old b2 before I scrapped it... I was going to look at making that into some skid plating.

Like...just mount that hood under the truck and that would be cool...lol

Camburg's also strengthens the lower A arm mounts, assuming yours are in the stock location.

Hey just an FYI but I have been building skid plates for a few people and have made a few dozen front and transfer case skids. They are very tough 3/16" plate and look really nice. If you are interested let me know and ill post up some pics. $135 + shipping

The factory Off-Road Package in some years had a front skidplate, as did the FX4 Level II. You may find one in a junkyard or on eBay but it is pretty thin. The Millers unit is heavier. Dixon Bros has one but I'm not sure if you have to use their front bumper with it.

Something like that. I hadn't really put much thought into it yet. My friends tried to use it as a sled last time it snowed...

Haaaaaa....now that is funny!!!!

.... Which part?
Obviously the hood would be cut into pieces, maybe mounted in conjunction with a new front bumper for a front skid plate... again, havn't really put much thought into it yet, I am still waiting for my 4" coils to show up in the mail. Once its lifted I get to think about bumpers and a roof basket and skid plates...

What make coils you getting? I love my Yakima roof rack and my Yamika basketcase. It comes in handy at times.
