blue is just as good as red. i only use red in something i NEVER wanna take out. ive installed a blue million gears over the years and havent had any bolts back out ever. ive seen red cause bolt strippage when taken loose later

bottledgt, you got lucky. Why? Well, new pinion nuts often come coated with red. So you used it without knowing it.

As for using blue Loctite on a pinion bolt, you might as well pee on it. It will make the same difference....

MAKG, you sir are a wealth of knowledge and an amazing source of signature material.

no i didnt get lucky.and nobody said anything about a pinion nut. but blue will work just as good as red in any case. red just wont come apart as easy. and a pinion nut wont come loose anyway since they are crimped at the end.

Red. Got it. I'll just throw a little heat at it when they need to come back apart.

Yep, a little heat and the red stuff lets go pretty easy.

and....they wont back out. never have never will. theres nothing wrong with blue loctite.but theres no convincing the super mechanincs on here

Well super mechanic, why have I SEEN them back out when blue was used?

Just going by what I have seen, not what I think.

Why the hell not get some red when dealing with a diff.

im not a super mechanic, but a pretty good one i think. they probably werent torqued right in the first place. i go by what i know, not by what i see or think. just my opinion on the blue. you can use it all you want. i just hate tearing down stuff somebody has drenched in red locktite. especially aluminum. that pretty much guarantees stripped out bolt holes

my dana 35 gears also had trouble but the 8.8 was easy and it looked about like your except the coast was a bit more in the center. im running precision gear on both front and rear. maybe the dana 35 are just a bitch to set up. i also used the stock shims though.

To spec. I know. One was mine many moons ago when I thought blue was good enough, now I know its not.

if you didnt torque them right, then why would you blame the loctite?

Dude, your an idiot. Im done here

yeah im an idiot...you got me
