Does anyone knows where I can find replacement rear brake lines (steel), or is it possible to make it yourself ?

Thank you.

I had a bad leak in my rear left brake line. I had the mechanic fix it up while I was in for a new tranny selenoid. Didn't look too tough, just find the right piping and replace the old one(shouldnt need any more than a wrench). I dont know about bleeding the brakes, though. Missed that part. I guess it's pretty bad if air gets in the brake lines so I would take it a garage just to be sure.

Are you talking about the lines running on the axle? If so, take those off, measure them then add it up for the approximate distance it would be straight. Go to NAPA and buy a straight piece of about the same length and loan a tubing bender from Autozone and you're good to go. Make sure you don't mix up each side and bend it the best you can to make it exact-similar to the factory line. I had to do them on my Ranger, Ford wanted $83 for EACH side on mine. I say Napa because the autozone around here is unorganized with lines and hoses, it may be different by you.

Yes, steel tubes mounted on axel….now, what about fittings. The ones I have are rusted out and decomposed, so there is no way of saving them. And one more thing, brake system has some pressure, if you just flare the ends, wouldn’t it leak. Please, be more specific on how to do this job.

Thank you

When you go to NAPA to buy the lines, they already have fittings on them and are flared just a tad so the fittings won't slide off, just like the factory lines.
