looking for 12v

Hello gents!
My sons and I are nearing completion of our LS swap Ranger. Currently I have the TCC wire that I’m needing help locating 12v to wire into. It has to have 12v constant until the brakes are applied. I wanted to wire into the brakes switch but I’m unsure because the brakes with is much different that GM types. Any help would be greatful

Well I'm no trans expert but the solenoids should be 12v constant and be grounded to activate, especially the TCC since it is not an on/off solenoid. It is pulsed to apply more or less clutch pressure. It is not always 100% on whenever the brakes are off so you cant simply wire it to a brake switch. It's only activated in final drive, while on the gas but not heavily accelerating and instantly disables when letting off the gas. So it technically needs feedback from the TPS, crank sensor, range sensor, brakes, vss, etc (i.e a computer tells it what to do... not a single switch)

Probably the best way to wire it would be a 5-pin relay that runs power to the tcc and when the brakes are applied it throws that power to the brake lights.

Gotcha... that makes sense. This all helps lots fellas. Right now also the tranny seems like it’s in limp mode. I have PRN and only 1 gear in D, I can shift from 1-2 manually. I’m hoping it’s just a bad VSS sensor. This project has been fun but it has its headaches.
