Well, the 4.0 is sitting on the garage floor(previous owner thrashed it to death--heads/gaskets) and I'm contemplating its replacement. Stock, SOHC, or 5.0---they all have advantages. I've got a line on a stock 91 4.0, and a couple of 5.0s---
