It makes sense. Sucking the air out of anything will make it collapse. Take an empty plastic water bottom and take a deep breath from it and watch it collapse. Ever wonder why it takes people so long to come up with the simplest solutions?

This techique will work okay for large truck or off-road tires. But won't work for low-profile car tires.

I'm trying to understand why would you want to do this, unless you are changing the tires yourself and have bead lock rims. If you have radial type rims and radial tires, not worth the busted knuckle.
