My beds pretty much done. It wasn't it good shape when I got the truck. There is a possible local replacement from a 91 but its a 7 foot bed. Mine is the extended cab with the 6 foot bed.

Can a long bed 7 foot be stuck on to a short bed without frame mods?

Things like, will the fenders line up with the wheels and what not.

I don't think so, the longer wheelbase means that the axle is farther back, and so the fenderwells won't line up

the long bed was never an option for the ex-cab trucks, so a longer wheel base doesn't exist.

Anything can be done.

But yea, you'll probably have to extend the frame, relocate the axle and lengthen the driveshaft to make it work. Or cut and weld the bed down to a 6'. Or relocate the wheel arches and lengthen the frame.
