Having some issues with 97 4.0 5 speed. Had code for lean bank 1 and 2. I found the hose from throttle body to the purge valve was disconnected. But I think it may have been for a while. My little scanner on live data showing-100% for short and long fuel trim on both 1 and 2. I sprayed some carb cleaner around but didn’t hear any rpm increase. The minus means it’s cutting back on fuel correct? Guess I’m not sure why? The truck does have a 99 engine in it so the smog stuff isn’t hooked up. Been this way for a year.
Thanks for any help

What is your "gut" feeling on how it's running? Is it running lean and has a lean miss-fire once in awhile? Or is it running rich and the exhaust stinks?

Misfire as in backfire? It had an occasional quick cutout like when pulling a hill. My son is the one driving it so I don’t know all it’s habits.

I’m also now having ignition issues getting primary and secondary coil code, overheating it and cracking and popping the 25 amp fuse. Guess I need to recheck the grounds. Very annoyed with this truck lately
