Lone Oklahoman?

Since I'm now here, how will I be able to tell who are the TRS fellows?

Edit: Strach that, just gotta look for those who drive RBV's.

Just Hi From Central OK

Just thought I'd say "Hi" from another Okie in central OK - Shawnee to be exact.

Just rescued an 89 Ranger XLT 4x4 for $400 that had been dead to the world for a while. Needed a winter get arounder... of course it will never snow again in my area now but anyhow.

PO had the intake off looking for gas in the oil issues - back together with a working MAP sensor, fuel pump, tank cleaning/filters, plugs/wires and she runs... with a nice loud V6 lifter tick :-( - ugh.

But with a new battery, some used BFG's and wheels, interior clean up (tried at least), rear window (was missing), new headlights (ebay deal), bed mount spare, rear bumper and tailgate off, and loads of other cleaning and it's acceptable at this point. Plus the 5 speed, transfer and diffs seem in good shape.

My 15 yo and I love the SoCal prerunner look from yearly visits out there so it may end up a wanna be pre.

Fun rescuing it none the less...

Third "rescue" car lately - previous was an 88 Turbocoupe and 85 Mustang SVO. Have a couple spare 2.3T motors that may find their way in the truck if old V6 gives it up.

Thanks for the welcome - Had no clue someone from Shawnee was here - looks like the name is Steve as well.

Will keep an eye out for the meet info - not sure how road worthy the old truck is yet - lifter noise and drinking antifreeze but time will heal.

Best thing to fix that lifter noise is to drop in a 4.0. Its apretty easy upgrade with tons of power. Just check the tech library

Havent heard anything yet. Anybody wanting to take the lead on organizing this?

I will check that out. Sounds like fun. Im a mustang man at heart. Going fast on the street will only get you tickets. I always liked these little ranger trucks and would like to get in to some trail ridin. Problem is I have a 2wd want to convert it to 4wd. I also have a built 347stroker pushin 400 plus on pump gas. Thats one of the reasons I joined. So far I have found out I own a trailhead edition ranger. I think I might have a gem here. It will almost go anywhere the way its sets. My goal is to fuel inject my stroker. Im in process of learning how to hack EEC-V or an EEC-IV. Whatever is the easiest?I want A/C all the luxury's want to do it right. The stroker made my stang run a 12.55 with a c6 and 273's gears. Its got less than a 1000 miles on it.:headbang:

The Overland trip sounds freakin awsome. I gotta get to work. Need parts and money. Will be working towards this.

Im also 2wd. I dont think it will be too much of a problem for a 2wd considering there are pictures of a VW bug doing it. That 347 sounds insane!

Yea your right. I bet my trailhead ranger would not have a problem. Just put a slave cylinder on it today. So far Ive ported and polished the cylinder heads and the upper and lower intake. Ive done the hot water bypass mod and unhooked the coolant lines that heat up my throtle body. Put homade CAI and a doubled chambered flow sound for exhaust. Also have a tuner but I dont think I like it to much. My avatar is the actual 347. Im down for goin Overland. My buddy is up for it as well. We will see if we cant make some time to go take an oveland trip.

I also attend college in Stillwater, but I'm from Tulsa. I almost have my truck finished finally! I would def. be up for a trail run with fellow rbv's. Seems like we are few and far between. Just need to bleed brakes, install shocks, and take it for a test drive to see how this SAS has turned out.:headbang:

I actually work in the BA. I would like to hook up and do some offroading. I checked out that overland trip. It was pretty cool. After reading the overland trip thread I came across Jim Oaks post about the Kiamichi. I actually drove to Clayton that next weekend and found the trails. I dont have a 4x4 yet. I will have one soon enough the trails in Clayton are definetly insperation. I keep getting jacked around on craigslist for 4x4 parts. Im trying to convert.
