Locking Hub Questions

hi, im new to the forums but a long time visitors to the site for all of my questions about my 87 Bronco II 4x4. i went playin a few weeks ago and noticed that only one of my front tires would spin (tried to go over a pile of sand and framed out). if i added new auto locking hubs, would they both turn or would i have to install lockers in the front end? i need some help here guys.

With a open differential it isn't uncommon for one tire to spin. Either a limited slip (which will help but will still break loose) or a locker will fix it. However a locker will make your truck harder to steer with the hubs locked in, and will make breaking your D28 front axle alot easier. IMO it is better to have that kind of stuff in the rear.

I wouldn't add auto hubs, manuals are alot stronger and you know for sure if then are locked in or not.

how would i go about adding a locker? limited slip? how much do you think this upgrade would cost? when i do this im goin to go ahead and buy manual locking hubs also.

Take a look in the tech library for information on lockers, also check out TRS Fab and Offroad for prices and options avilable to you. Jim's prices will beat most of the big named distributors.
