i finally bought a ranger with all the parts that i need to finish mine and it came with some extra parts. this is a picture of the locker????? for a d35 that came with it. he told me that it was an auburn locker and iwas wondering if that is true either way im not going to use it and was wondering if it is worth anything. thanks for any input.

the picture is a little blurry but it looks like an open carrier to me. not a locker.

Looks like a limited slip of some sort, definitely not open. Auburn doesn't make a locker.

x2 looks like open diff

Open carrier...

sorry guys....that's a limited slip diff.

the first clue is in the side shot...see how deep the case is behind the side gears?that's where the clutches sit.

the real clue is in the end shot,though...those two holes either side of the center are where the retainers for the clutches index.the piece you can just barely see in that hole is the clutch retainer.

ok oops lol, i didnt think it was l/s because usually you see the big spring right in the middle of the spiders

one other thing...i'm pretty sure that's for an 8.8,not a 35.

Pretty sure the 8.8" has 10 ring gear bolts. That has 8.

Agreed, looks like a L/S (probably a Sure-Grip if it's an Auburn).

ohh i forgot it came with an extra set of clutch pads. i thought that a l/s diff had a spring between the spider gears? thanks for the input
