Can somebody tell or show me where the EGR should be located on a 1993 Ranger 4.0 SOHC? I have looked where the Chilton says it is supposed to be located and cannot locate. Thanks

Not all 4.0l had EGR valves, it depends on where they were first sold.
If you have looked and not seen it, then it is not equipped with EGR

And a 1993 4.0l is an OHV, Rangers didn't get the 4.0l SOHC until 2000, mid-year I think, because there are 2000 Rangers with 4.0l OHV

The egr should be located off of your Fuel Pressure Regulator thats attached to your Lower Intake Manifold if im not mistaken, its located in the back of the engine on the back of the Manifold.

you can also do an easy check by looking at the underhood diagram on the vehicle and it will tell you if you have EGR equipped or not. All it is is a Exhaust Gas Recirculation(EGR) nothing major.

Probably doesn't have it. My brother and a buddy of mine both had 93 4.0s at one time and neither had EGR.

Here's a photo of the 1997 4.0 OHV engine (same as yours), showing the EGR midway between the master cylinder and the A/C compressor, next to the power steering reservoir.

That question is so wrong, it's almost like a trick question to see all the dumb answers...
Next time use the search, it makes you look smarter, and you would have found this answer.

The answer is no, because the EGR wasn't introduced to the 4.0 until 94, and only on models w/ CA emissions at that. EGR became standard in 95.

Hey, I saw a movie where they had another trick question like that. It was "My Cousin Vinny". Great flick.

I get that reference! LOL
