I have a 5r55e and I’ve installed a new shift cable . I’m trying to get the plastic insert to seat on the bottom of the truck just before it connects to the unit. Anyone have any tips or tricks . Thx

To clarify . I’m talking about where the cable mounts to the bracket , not on the transmission itself

Can you tell us what year Ranger? I have a 94 and have gone thru that replacement a couple of times and if it's similar, it's a PIA. I especially had trouble with the connection at the firewall. Images would help as well to clarify where your having an issue.
