should bed liner coating be used on a lowered truck body panels? what are your thought of this i know it looks rugged on the 4x4's but problem is i got a 4x2 and am thinking of lowering it. and it needs body work i can do. the problem i will have is in the painting of it. i am thinking roll on if any thing but spray on is possible.

see i live in Michigan and the salt they use on the roads in the winter just kill's the cars/trucks up here. i look on craigslist etc.. and it is the same truck i am selling so why buy another is how i am looking at it.. if i paint a body part after i line x it or use colored line x or some thing ?? i am looking at black and or red for the colors.

the real question i am thinking do you think it should be done on a lowered truck?

I can see doing it from the lower body line down to keep road salt/debris from damaging the rocker panels. Don't know if I'd do the entire body, but it's your truck not mine. It would definitely be unique.
They also make plasti-dip in clear finishes, so you could coat your truck for the winter, and then just peel the salt off in the spring. Lots of people do that with high dollar wheels.

An idea may be to just fix your body panel then have your truck line-x underneath. My truck has line-x in the bed and underneath. I think it looks like crap when people try to coat the outside of a truck... Salt or no salt.

My only problem with using bed liner on the body is if rusting happens under the liner it won’t show up until it had rotted the door off the hinges. I know it is just the lower part but to me sand and paint, maybe with Rock Guard.

I think it would a good idea to bedline just the lower part of your rig.

Rust shouldn't happen under the bedliner if it does its because it was rusted before and never treated. I stripped all the paint of the lower section of my body fixed some rust holes and treated it with por-15 then applied roll on bed liner. As well as coating the entire frame and underside with por-15.
