How do I get rid of the limited slip in my 87 ranger XLT?

You can put a lunchbox locker in there in place of it. Or you could put it on craigslist. org and trade it for an open one.. Why, when you have the best of all worlds, would you want it out?

You should post what and why you want to take the posi OUT! Once you take the gears out it takes a qualified expert with the proper tools to put it back in there.. It isn't something many guys can do on their own.

If the thing is giving you problems it may be cheaper to get a used complete rearend from a junk yard than to tear into what you have now.
